HeadRoom: Lightweight, Edge-deployable Pipeline for Adaptive Notification Routing

This page is the companion website for our UIST 2026 submission. It first presents examples of the probes, followed by 15-second snippets from the videos used in our user study. We then show a qualitative example, recorded live using Aria glasses and our model running in real-time, illustrating our model’s real-time predictions.

User Study Probes Display (Audio Probe + Video Probe)

This video presents the two probe types used in our user study. First, you will hear the auditory probe as a beep sound, followed by the visual probe shown as a square.

Actual Video Snippets Used in the Study

The three clips below are the actual snippets shown to participants, in order: Video 1, Video 2, Video 3.

Aria Live Video

This example shows a live recording from Project Aria glasses, along with our model’s real-time visual and auditory availability predictions plotted below. The traces change over time in intuitive ways: loud sirens and other abrupt sounds are often accompanied by lower auditory availability, while visually busy or high-motion segments are often accompanied by lower visual availability.”
